Perinatal Care
Unmatched Perinatal Care
The prenatal and postpartum time is filled with lots of change, both physically and emotionally. It is so incredibly important to support yourself during this time to optimize your experience as well as optimist both yours and your baby’s health.
Ashburn Natural Wellness offers a vast array of support for expecting and new parents. We offer Chiropractic Care, Acupuncture and Massage Therapy.
Chiropractic care is safe and effective through all stages of conception and pregnancy and can be a very effective tool in preparation for delivery. We use a gentle approach to assess the pelvis and get it moving really well to both decrease pain and optimize labor and delivery. Along with hands-on care, Dr. Tiffanie takes time during each visit to educate patients on things that they can do outside of the treatment room to properly prepare for delivery. She believes that knowledge is power. There is so much that you can do during pregnancy to get out of pain, but also to help strengthen your core and pelvic floor to allow for an optimal delivery and an efficient recovery postpartum.
Prenatal massage is ideal during pregnancy and can help to alleviate the muscle and joint aches that often arise. Prenatal massage offers relief to the tension that builds in the neck, shoulders, back, and hips. Our expectant clients are able to lie comfortably on their side with supportive pillows placed in a way that provides the most relaxing experience.
Acupuncture is a gentle and safe way to support your body during this time. Acupuncture can be extremely effective in decreasing first trimester symptoms including nausea as well as supporting the body’s optimal hormonal shifts. Studies have shown that women who receive acupuncture treatments in the weeks before giving birth have shorter mean delivery times, are less likely to be induced, and are less likely to request epidurals. Of course, all births, bodies, and pregnancies are different! These results vary and outcomes are not guaranteed.
Acupuncture can also be an amazing resource postpartum as a way to support the natural hormonal shifts associated with just giving birth, weaning and transitioning back to having a regular cycle.
